about

This is a Praise tune I wrote back at the turn of the millennium. To those who know me that might sound a bit odd as I’m not a card-carrying member of any religious group. The only way I can explain the inspiration for this song is to quote a line from another song I wrote well after this one – ‘I may never understand what I instinctively believe’. It’s as simple and as unfathomable as that. I encourage people to take what they might from this piece. It is honest, straightforward and heartfelt.

lyrics

SING TO THE LORD

Sing a song of joy and praise and sing it to the Lord.
Sing a song of praise. Sing a song of joy.
Find within your heart the perfect music to employ.
Sing a song of joy. Sing it to the Lord.
Let the rafters ring with a sound so clear
Anytime of the year.

Come and feel the love that is the presence of the Lord.
Sing a song of praise. Sing a song of joy.
Call to Him with gladness and your sorrow he’ll destroy.
Sing a song of joy. Sing it to the Lord.
Let your heart rejoice, free from woe and fear,
Anytime of the year.

Show with your voice all the love that you feel for the Lord.
So make your choice with the angels above for the Lord.
Praise ye the Lord. Sing to the Lord.
