about

This is a surreal little number that has one objective – to make people laugh, chuckle or at least smile. As far as a plot line goes, well, I’ll let the song speak for itself. Through this little tune I am introducing Carl Carppenter (the first ‘p’ is silent) and his vocal group, The Cornie Carnie Commemorative Chorale. I have set this catchy bit of craziness in the form of an old-fashioned sing along, so once you learn the tune and lyrics (and it won’t take long) please feel free to join in. I guess there’s nothing more I can tell you at this point except that, well, It’s Dogshit.

lyrics

IT’S DOGSHIT

It’s dogshit and it’s everywhere.
It’s dogshit and it’s everywhere.
It’s dogshit and it’s everywhere –
In the park, on every street and my back stairs.

When I’m walking home from work on a Thursday afternoon
I always watch out where I step as I hum a merry tune.
I watch the doggies happily do their thing without a care
But, you know, I can’t stop wondering how it gets on my back stairs.

Just last night as I walked home through the freshly fallen snow
I snuck around the alleyway ‘cause that’s how they’d have to go
To plant their little steaming gifts that I’m always finding there.
But, to my surprise, there were no tracks leading up to my back stairs.

Well, then it came as quite a shock as I looked up, up through the trees.
A familiar looking doggie face was smiling back at me.
Well, it was Fred but…but he’d been dead since the rains came pouring down.
I guess these little loaves of clay were his own way to tell me he was still around.
