about
This is a song about us – humankind, as we know ourselves. It’s about what we have become and the effect this has on our lives. Of course, it’s hard to know how we started, where we’re going, what we’ve gained and, indeed, what we’ve lost. This is just a snapshot, a brief observation from a few angles. Perhaps that’s all a song can ever really be.
lyrics
Adam’s Fall
Chickens in the barnyard never tell lies.
Fox don’t need to wear a disguise.
Buzzard on the wind don’t cover his eyes.
It’s only man who truth denies.
Lawyers make the rules they seldom obey
While upon the people they prey.
Children fightin’ wars where there ought to be peace.
The fortunes of the rich increase.
Wise men say we must walk tall.
Wicked hard to do in money’s thrall.
Things been strange since Adam’s Fall
But now I understand it all.
Companies make the blindfolds that we all buy;
Tie them on us so we won’t pry.
String us by the thumbs when their sins we decry
To keep us slaves ‘neath freedom’s lie.
Some will rise and heed the call;
Others choose to live behind their wall.
Things been strange since Adam’s Fall
But now I understand it all.
